Walking the Freedom Trail

Walking the Freedom Trail

Often times you head to Boston for its charm, history and food but you may not think about what all really happened here outside of the infamous Boston Tea Party.

A Majority of Boston excursions include the Tea Party, Independence Hall and several museums. One that should not be missed is the Freedom Trail; which can be done as a group, individually, guided or as an audio tour.

While cruising around Boston, you may or may or may not notice a random line of bricks that are two bricks in width thick. This is the Freedom Trail and it will lead you from anywhere in the city around to multiple places where important history took place. We opted for an audio tour that lead us from the Boston Common all the way to the Bunker Hill Monument.

There are tons of places to get lost off the trail, stop for breakfast, lunch and dinner and of course shopping! The audio tour is amazing because it works via GPS; so if you stop for lunch or go on a shopping spree, it'll only pick back up again when you get to another interest point. It's also kind of easy to get off trail so this is helpful to have someone in your ear telling you a little short story of your surroundings.

You can potentially start where ever you want, but it's highly recommended to start at the commons. You'll also learn a very fun and interesting fact within the first 5 minutes at the commons, so don't miss out on that. Hint: has to do with found items in recent times.
